Getting started

1. Tap Let's play and choose a game: Classic Charades, Take Over or Bad Actors.
2. Choose a category. Normal is free in Classic Charades and Take Over.
3. For Take Over and Bad Actors, enter the players' names. Take Over needs a guesser and at least two actors; Bad Actors needs at least three players.
4. The guesser holds the phone sideways on their forehead, with the screen facing the other players.
5. Tilt down for correct and tilt up to skip, coming back upright between tilts.

You don't need the exact words. Matching the answer counts, and your group decides.

Replay the tutorial

Tap How to Play on the home screen, or in Settings. Each game's own rules are on its category screen: tap the ? button in the top corner.

Free and Premium

• Free: the Normal category in Classic Charades and Take Over.
• Premium: every other category in Classic Charades and Take Over (Animals, Food, Christmas, Halloween and Sports), plus all of Bad Actors, including its Normal category.

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, available weekly or annually. Eligible new subscribers may be offered an introductory free trial. The app shows the current price, period and any trial before you subscribe. If you've already used a trial for Take Over Premium, you'll see the regular price instead.

Restore purchases

Subscriptions belong to your Apple Account, not to one phone. On a new or reset iPhone:

1. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you subscribed with.
2. Open Take Over, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases. You can also tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen.

If no active subscription is found, check that the subscription is still active in your Apple Account (see below).

Manage or cancel your subscription

Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Take Over. Subscribers can also tap Manage subscription in the app's Settings.

To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or current period ends. Apple's guide: Cancel a subscription from Apple.

Refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Tilting doesn't register, or registers too easily

• Hold the phone sideways (landscape) against your forehead, screen facing out.
• Make one clear nod down for correct, or tip back for skip, then return to upright before the next one. Holding a tilt only counts once.
• A clear, deliberate nod works better than a small or slow movement.
• If tilting isn't practical, turn on On-screen Correct/Skip buttons in Settings.

Sound, music and vibration

In Settings you can switch All Sounds, Menu Music, Menu Sound Effects, Actor Switch Sound and Vibration on or off. The app respects your iPhone's silent mode, and everything that happens is also shown on screen, so you can play with the sound off.

Privacy

The app doesn't need an account, and player names and settings stay on your phone. Read the full Privacy Policy and our Terms.
